In today’s world of connected learning, the impact of social media education is becoming a driving factor.  The world is getting smaller, and using technology such as social media, the way we deliver instruction is changing. The primary reason we use social media is to stay connected. The modern world is a place where the connection between individuals is simplified by the various channels and platforms available to us on the internet. 

The impact of social media on millennials and Generation Z has been more evident as compared to older generations. Social media and education can complement one another if utilized effectively. Students can now communicate and share thoughts through various social media platforms in real-time, regardless of their geographical locations or distance. This is just one of the positive impacts of social media on student life. Social media also exposes students to a whole new way of learning. 

According to research it has opened new avenues for researching, encouraging students to get creative and think outside the box. Social media continuously keeps changing. These platforms are social networking sites that encourage sharing of content. They have made collaboration on an assignment or project, easier. 

One does not have to meet physically, to work together. By communicating on WhatsApp, spread the word using hashtags on Twitter or joining a Facebook group. The effect of social media education is not all black and white. It can be a distraction as you look for my capstone project or you could use it to collaborate with others on a project. 

It all depends on how you as a student, choose to use it. Social media can be an asset for learning, keeping students connected and engaged with their field, course, and peers.  Social media marketing has become a science, and many marketers are competing for your attention through social media channels. Whereas people have found they feel lonelier because of social media. This is especially true of younger people, such as students who have grown up with social media platforms.

 Since people are communicating more and more through electronic means, they tend to have a harder time interacting with people in the real world. One of the pros of social media has produced been the area of business promotion. These sites make it very easy for companies to promote their products to their perfect customer persona.
