Bengaluru-base startup launches India’s first ever 2-Wheeler electric SUV

Amid the EV revolution in the Indian automobile sector, Bengaluru-based startup River on February 22 has launched its first EV- 'Indie.' The two-wheeler is getting publicized by the name of India's first SUV scooter that has been designed at the entity's R & D institute in Whitefield Bengaluru. The product is planned to be manufactured in the plant of Hoskote, which is capable of producing 100,000 units annually. The scooter shows a unique design underlining its utility on roads. The vehicle's 43-liter of under-seat storage is the distinctive feature that makes it stand out from the competition. Moreover, it is also equipped with a 12-liters glove box compartment for additional storage. In design, the vehicle is complemented with twin-beam Led headlamps and a big tail lamp unit attached at the curve. Also, the stability is pampered by clip-on handlebars making the vehicle handier in an urban ambiance. It also gets the built-in "safeguards" that will come out from the front deck of the scooter and act as a crash guard at the time of fall. Making it more comfortable, the EV comes with dual spring suspensions at the back and bigger front forks at the front. Resting on a 14-inch alloy tire, Indie is equipped with comfortable seats, collapsible footpegs, and a pair of unseen Locl and Load boots. As stated by the company, the boot will be big enough to load future accessories of the vehicle. The EV has claimed a real range of 120 km with the help of its 4kWh battery pack. The Motor is capable to generates a peak power of 6.7 kW. The vehicle can speed up to 90 kmph and provide fast charging of 80 percent in just 5 hours. The EV gets a display with a TFT color, reverse parking, and two USB ports providing convenience to riders. With three riding modes called Eco, Rush, and Ride. According to the company, the vehicle has a wide variety of audiences. Including urban users and small start-ups, it will cater to the needs of Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
