Celebrating DCCIA Lifetime Achievement Award

The 12th Annual Award Function of Deccan Chamber of Commerce Industries & Agriculture Pune was held on 16th August, 2015 at Hotel Hyatt Regency in Pune. His Excellency Shri ShriniwasPatil, Honorable Governor of Sikkim graced the award ceremony as the Chief Guest. The event was attended by the members of the Executive Committee, wide range of member industries and the honorable guests from Open Corporate. DCCIA Pune is the most active chamber in the city with more than 200 organizations as members. This event bears a special mentionas our Chairman & Managing Director, Mr Yogesh Vaghani was honored with the DCCIA Lifetime Achievement Award. Mr.Vaghanihas been instrumental in forming and shaping up the chamber, formerly known as Nagar Road Industries Association. Some 21 years ago, DCCIA Pune was formed over a high tea discussion by like-minded individuals with the vision to convert the industrial belt into mini Japan through Lean and Kaizen management techniques. As the promoter and director of Milton Plastics, he incorporated operational excellence techniques at Pune unit. He proactively instilled a cultural change which brought both prosperity and profitability in the plant. It also go them the first Global Kaizen Award from the hands of Masaaki Imai, the Father of Kaizen.The company has become a pioneer and a leading exporter ofthermo-ware and insulated products. The Milton Plastics factory became a World Class Manufacturing facility where Visual Kaizen enabled the people to work efficiently and deliver quality products to the market at the right time. The factory also became a pilgrimage for those who were in pursuit of excellence. The dramatic results seen at his own factory prompted Mr. Vaghanito helpother organisations on the Nagar Road industrial belt. Over a period of time, he personally trained more than 10000 people from business leaders, managers, supervisors and workers. Taking a cue from the progress at the Milton factory, various other organisationsstarted their Lean Kaizen initiatives. In 2013, RSB Transmissions became the first company in Pune to receive the prestigious Deming Award for successfully implementing Total Quality Management in their factory. This award is a recognition of his commitment and dedication towards making organizations fit, fast and flexible. Under the aegis of Vedzen Institute, a consulting firm which he started later on, he continues to serve and facilitate Lean transformation for various industries in several sectors and across industries. He’s actively involved in bringing about newer applications of Lean Kaizen as the contemporary management technique to meet customer expectations and gradually help in building the nation. He has pioneered Lean Kaizen for Healthcare, Lean-Kaizen for Construction and Lean for Services. His unique ability to amalgamate spiritual learning with operational and management concepts is outstanding and inspiring to modern generation of operational excellence practitioners.
