Difference between vedic and western astrology

    Category: Health

What is Vedic Astrology? Also known as Jyotish, Vedic astrology is a new term for Hindu or Indian astrology. It is one of the Vedangas of Vedas, the ancient Hindu scriptures. To understand and practice Vedic teachings, Vedangas are one of the six sciences. The destiny of any person is decided by the karma of his/her life. Vedic astrology is scientific in nature and involves some complex mathematical calculations to decide accurate astrological predictions. There are 27 + 1 constellations that are made from 12 zodiac signs, 9 planets, and 12 houses. Each of these planets and houses depicts some facet of human life. The 12 zodiac signs are distributed among 12 houses and 9 plants come in houses of kundalis and they are done on the basis of the birth details of a person. All the snapshots and planets in the form of visual representation are known as Kundali. The strengths, weaknesses, characteristics, and inclinations of any person’s life are determined at the time of birth with the arrangement of planets and stars. Thus, the construction of the placement of planets at the time of birth is known as Horoscope. You can know about your Horoscope by talking to some of the esteemed astrologers at Lifechart who will guide you with accurate life predictions. What is Western Astrology? This astrology is majorly popular in western countries and is based on Ptolemy’s Tetrabiblos. It is in continuation of Hellenistic and Babylonian traditions. This astrology is primarily horoscopic, and it is based on the construction of an exact moment of any person’s birth and location where different cosmic bodies have an impact. In western culture is more inclined towards sun sign astrology that only talks about the date of birth of any individual. The establishment of Western astrology is based on the progression and near-to-precise location of spiritual bodies like the Sun, Moon, and planets, and they are projected based on their graphic angles, parallel to each other. In astrology, there are twelve zodiac symbols, houses, points, and positions of these houses in the birth chart. Popularly known in the Western world, where the major focus of this system is on a person’s psychology, basic character, and personality. In western astrology, zodiac signs depict twelve basic personality categories of any person. The tropical zodiac is utilized by western astrologers and all the major planets like Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto are utilized during the time making predictions.
