Gestational diabetes also known as Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM) is high blood sugar levels found in pregnant women, who have never had diabetes before. It is usually diagnosed in the third trimester of pregnancy and is known to affect 4-10% of pregnant women, so it is not a very common disease.
