"Understudy is the debut EP from Joshua Singh, a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and music producer from Mumbai, India. To some listeners, in some moments, the 5-track, 22-minute ‘electronic soul’ EP might suggest either pain, or joy. In fact, however, it commits to neither. It is music that looks at life, and emotion, from a ""third perspective.” Featuring guest appearances by Rachel Singh, Kokum, Sid Vashi, Ajay Jayanti, and Rajeev Prasanna, the songs are also accompanied by a set of 5 inkwork expressions by Aditya Singh. Joshua began composing and producing music at the age of 12. As a musician or producer, has worked with Hard Kaur, Dopedelicz and Taba Chake. Most notably, he performed as the drummer, backup vocalist, and co-producer for acclaimed independent band Spud In The Box, touring across India extensively to perform at festivals including: NH7 Weekender, Ragasthan, Red Bull Tour Bus, and the Kala Ghoda festival. Joshua also runs a music studio and copyright services agency called JoshuaMusic, where he records and produces music for various artists. JoshuaMusic serves as a voice and conduit for royalties and artist rights in the industry. As a member of a proud musical family, Understudy represents Joshua Singh's arrival as one of the most exciting names in India's growing independent music community."
