Pets and Coronavirus
Category: Pets
These are trying times for people. Everyone’s thinking about how to keep their families safe from a new virus. Businesses face challenges never anticipated. Hopefully, job losses are temporary. BUT WHAT ABOUT PETS? People ask: “can my dog or my cat contract Coronavirus?” “If they contract it, can they spread it to people?” “If they get it, can it morph into something more dangerous?” All great questions. The CDC has addressed COVID-19 and animals. While it seems very unlikely pets can contract it, we recommend you visit their site regularly in case they make revisions. Here is the link to their site. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavi…/2019-ncov/prepare/animals.html As per the CDC: “In the United States, there is no evidence to suggest that many animals, including pets, livestock, or wildlife, might be a source of COVID-19 infection at this time.” RISKS TO PETS “CDC has not received any reports of pets or other animals becoming sick with COVID-19. Further studies are needed to understand if and how different animals could be affected by COVID-19.” They also offer suggestions on how to protect your pets should you get sick from the virus. Thanks, everyone. Be safe so you and your families can stay healthy.
