It is believed that Nagaraja is the installed deity and is endowed with the spirit of Lord Shiva, while possessing the form of Hari. The temple is a great attraction and has the largest number of footfall in the months of April to May, due to the famous festival, which is organized during this period. Kuttanad: Kuttanad literally means the rice bowl; this place is famous as the rice bowl of Kerala because it’s wealthy in terms of vegetation and paddy crop. The place is situated at the center of the backwaters. The panoramic beauty of the place is stunning in its sense, the paddy crops spread to the indefinite along with a rich crop of yam, cassava, and banana.
