Robotic surgery has become the preferred method for knee replacement in recent years.

    Category: Health

Knee replacement surgery is a major medical procedure that can have a lasting effect on a person’s mobility. Traditional surgery involves lengthy incisions, long recovery times, and risks of infection and other complications. Recently, robots have emerged in orthopedic surgeries that are paving the way for minimally invasive procedures with shorter recovery times. Robotic surgery has become the preferred method for knee replacement in recent years due to its accuracy and reduced risk of complications. In this blog post, we will discuss the various advantages of robotic surgery and the technology used to perform it. What is robotic surgery? Robotic surgery is a minimally invasive surgery that uses a computer-assisted device to control surgical instruments. The device, called a da Vinci surgical system, consists of a camera and three or four robotic arms. The surgeon sits at a console next to the patient and views a 3D image of the operative site. The surgeon controls the robotic arms, which are equipped with miniature surgical instruments, from the console. Robotic surgery has become the preferred method for knee replacement in recent years because it results in less pain and scarring, and a quicker recovery time. In addition, robot-assisted surgery enables the surgeon to operate with greater precision than is possible with traditional open surgery or laparoscopic surgery. The Different types of knee replacement surgery There are three main types of knee replacement surgery: partial, unicompartmental, and total. Each type has different benefits and risks. Partial knee replacement is the least invasive type of knee replacement surgery. It involves replacing only the damaged parts of the knee joint with artificial components. This type of surgery is typically recommended for people who have arthritis in only one part of the knee. Partial knee replacement can provide excellent pain relief and improve function, but it does not last as long as other types of knee replacement surgery.
