TECHNOLOGY AND HEALTH SECTOR
Category: Technology
We live in a world where half of the work is done by modern technologies! Technology has affected each one of us in some or the other way. It has taken over every sector from farming to education. Many health care firms are slowly and gradually moving their way to use modern technologies. Though, there are still some things that can be changed and can improve the patient’s care and reduce the cost. Here are a few ways to do that: Electronic Health Records: Electronic health records help to view the patient’s medical history easily. By using this technology it’s easy for doctors to communicate between themselves. Before electronic health records, the hospitals used to write the information of the patient on a physical paper and there were many problems faced like storage problems, the papers used getting lost, hard to keep a record of so many people, doctors had difficulty communicating and many other things. In the past hospitals had difficulty sharing or transferring the patient’s information and the process was slow but now the information is more easily transferred and does not take much time to reach! Electronic health records also provide safety and security to the patient’s information. Electronic Prescribing: Electronic prescribing is where the doctor prescribes medicine electronically and directly delivers it to the pharmacists. When prescribing it physically it was sometimes difficult for the pharmacists to read the prescription and so it was dangerous to the patient’s safety. One more disadvantage of a prescribed medicine is that there is a possibility that the patient can misplace it. The main purpose of using Electronic Prescribing is so that the minor errors that occur while prescribing physically can be ignored. Wearable Devices: Wearable devices like wristbands and watches that can monitor the heartbeat, and blood pressure of the patient are growing in the market! This device is linked with the doctor’s monitor and can even alert the doctor in case of any medical emergency. Conclusion: Using technologies in the medical sector can bring a drastic change if used properly. It can reduce the risk factor, give proper security and safety to the patient, communication among the doctors can be improved, and can also save more lives! You can virtually meet your doctor from 100 miles away and can also get medicines at your doorstep. Technology is improving the health sector rapidly!
