Triplex plunger pumps are a type of reciprocating positive displacement pump that is used to move both thin liquids (such as water) and viscous fluids (such as oil). The pump employs a triple mechanism, which consists of three pistons or plungers functioning in cylinders that are all powered by a single power source, as the name implies. The use of three plungers in triplex plunger pumps lowers the pulsation of single reciprocating plunger pumps.
